In a true testament to the power of a mother’s love, a mama dog saved her nine puppies from a raging fire by digging a hole to protect them.
When a forest fire near the city of Valparaiso, in Chile, was headed dangerously close to her puppies, this protective mom led her puppies away from the blaze. She dug a hole in the dirt and left the pups there while she went to find a shelter for herself.
Luckily, locals saw where she left the pups, and paramedics were able to uncover the puppies in a delicate rescue operation.

Mom, now being called Negrita, and her nine babies are all safe and far away from the flames, and local families have already stepped forward to adopt every member of the family.
