A photographer named Wesley White was on a business trip to Belize. So he was eager to explore this beautiful island and take pictures. With very little free time, he was looking forward to a wonderful trip.
On the first day of the trip, he decided to kayak to a small island in Thatch Caye. When he arrived on the island, he noticed a hungry dog entering a deserted fishing shack. The poor dog was only skin and bones, but he was friendly. “Out of the corner of my eye, I saw his tail wagging,” Wesley tells The Dodo.
Wesley called out to people, but there was no one fishing. He didn’t think the dog would last even one more day and he had to save it in time. So he put the dog in the kayak and went back to the hotel. If he didn’t do something to help him, the dog was going to starve to death.
As soon as he arrived at the hotel, he called for help. Fortunately, everyone pitched in to help, give the dog food and take him to a vet. Unfortunately, Wesley was only with the dog for a short time, as he only had 36 hours left before leaving Belize.
The vet stayed in contact with Wesley and let him know that the dog was recovering and ready to be placed in a foster home. After two months in the foster home, the dog could have flown to Dallas to be reunited with Wesley.
The dog has a new name, Winston, and is now happy in Wesley’s home with his owner and friends. Watch how fate brought Wesley and the hungry pup together and their reunion after a long journey in the heartwarming .
