In the quiet hours near Oviedo, Florida, a compassionate couple stumbled upon a distressing sight—a stray dog by the roadside, entangled in severely matted fur, showing signs of neglect over his four years of life. Urgent action was needed, prompting the couple to reach out on social media for help.
Enter Kari Falla, a dedicated dog grooming professional from BGE Grooming. Moved by the urgent plea, Falla immediately opened her salon at the stroke of midnight to provide much-needed assistance to the abandoned canine named Lucky.
“When a dog’s fur is matted that badly, it can cause its blood flow to stop as well as bruising to the dog,” Falla explained, highlighting the severity of Lucky’s condition. Working tirelessly until 3 AM, Falla performed an ’emergency grooming,’ unveiling a remarkable transformation by fully shaving and bathing Lucky.
The poignant experience left Falla in awe and tears. “I knew it was bad, but nothing prepared me for what I saw… It made me cry,” she later commented.
The matted mess concealed a whole new dog underneath, and Lucky, after receiving perhaps the first bath of his life, was taken to the vet.
