A mother dog, who is also homeless and expecting puppies, was found lying still in a narrow ditch.
Initially thought to be a huge tumor, her abdomen was swollen and she was rushed to the vet. An ultrasound revealed that she had two babies in her womb. Despite being in pain, she fought for her pups’ lives. Emergency surgery was necessary, and although it was successful, only one puppy survived. Mama dog is still recovering and receiving medical attention, while the puppy is being cared for and fed by hand. Our hope is that both Mama dog and her pup will recover fully. This little family is a precious gift, and we are grateful for their rescue.
